Week 3
Another great week in St. Patrick's Class. We have enjoyed PE this week, playing a game involving throwing and catching. I was so impressed with the maturity and empathy the children showed - we are getting ready for the rest of KS2.
In RSHE we made our own representations of the Holy Trinity. We did lots of sticking and had high expectations, we were very neat.
In Maths we have begun looking at clocks. We have found this very interesting, and a bit tricky at times too - we are resilient though!
In Computing we looked at programming sprites in Scratch. We all enjoyed this, and some of us would like to practice our programming at home. You can find the link here.
We are all super ready for the bank holiday!
Week 2
We have certainly been enjoying the sunny weather in St Patrick's class. This week we have looked at using scratch, and will be continuing to do this during our programming lessons in computing. We think it is fun!
In Maths we have begun our unit on time, learning about Roman Numerals. This will definitely come in handy during our visit to Chedworth Roman Villa in a few weeks time. We are really excited!
Lots of children have really improved in their multiplication scores this term. Thank you so much for practicing at home, it really does make a difference and they are already so confident.
In DT we finally finished our Roman posters with moving parts. We used levers and linkages to make things move. We had very high expectations when we were making these, cutting and sticking with care.
Week 1
What a great first week we have had in Year 3! In Maths we have returned to our work on fractions, finding unit and non-unit fractions of an amount. In English we retold an adventure story called The Mystery Man. We enjoyed the cliffhanger and can't wait to write our own. We have been having high expectations for our handwriting too, getting ready for Year 4.
In RE we grew in our Faith by finishing our topic of Desert to Garden, looking at how Holy Week is celebrated around the world.
We are looking forward to another great term in Year 3!
