Reception
It’s our great privilege to present this term’s Governor Award to a very special young student in our St Mary’s Class. This child has impressed all of us with her deep faith and unwavering confidence in knowing God as someone she can always turn to. Whether through her prayers or the way she shares her love for Jesus, she teaches us all the importance of having faith in God’s guidance.
Not only does she shine with her faith, but she brings an abundance of fun and joy to the classroom. Her bright smile and kind heart make her friends smile, and she sets a beautiful example of what it means to live like Jesus—showing love, kindness, and care to everyone around her.
As it says in 1 Peter 2:21, “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his steps.” You are truly following in Jesus’ steps, bringing His love and light to everyone you meet.
We are so proud of you Clemmie. Congratulations, and may God continue to bless you always.

This boy has flourished in confidence this term, and it has been wonderful to hear him share his ideas in our class discussions. Furthermore, this boy’s enthusiasm about his learning has continued to grow, and it is a joy to see him apply love and care to each task he approaches; particularly in R.E, where he likes to share his insightful and reflective ideas. Year 5
It gives me great pleasure to present the Governors Award to a young lady who embodies the essence of Catholic values and virtues in every aspect of her life. Her humbleness, kindness, and commitment to excellence in all she does serve as an inspiration to us all.
Despite not being part of our school family for long, she has demonstrated a profound sense of understanding of the Little Ways. Through small acts of kindness, small improvements in her work and small smiles; she performs little acts with great love that make a big difference to us all.
In particular, she holds herself to high standards in all she does, understanding that excellence in presentation is a way to honour God. As St. Paul reminds us in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Her work across all areas is exceptionally well presented, clearly demonstrating great thought and commitment.
In the Year of Jubilee as we all endeavour to be Pilgrims of Hope, she remains steadfastly hopeful for the future. She understands that her journey is not just about personal success, but about making a positive impact on the world around her.
In conclusion, this young girl is a shining example of how living out Catholic values and virtues can transform our lives and the lives of those around us. Let us all be inspired by her humbleness, kindness, and dedication to excellence, and strive to follow her example in our own lives. Thank you, Marianne.
Year 6
At just 11 years old, this young man demonstrates the powerful virtues of faith, hope, and love in everything he does. His kindness toward younger children is unmatched, offering them a smile or a helping hand whenever they need it. His heart is full of compassion, and he understands like St Therese, that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day.
As a dedicated house captain, he shows determination to lead by example constantly striving to REACH in all he does. Whether it’s supporting his house or his classmates, he does it with a spirit of integrity and enthusiasm, always making sure that everyone feels included and valued. But it’s not just in his leadership that he shines. His empathy for others is evident in every interaction he has, and his friendship is something that many of his peers treasure.
In his life, his actions reflect the words of Corinthians 13: 7, which describe love in its truest form: “It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” This boy lives this out every day—his love for others is genuine, and he works hard to ensure that everyone around him feels supported and cared for. In a world where faith, hope, and love is what we aspire to achieve, his example reminds us that even young people can make a lasting impact through their kindness, empathy, and determination to be a force for good. Thank you Sidney - keep shining your light brightly in Year 6.

It is my pleasure to present the Governor’s Award to a remarkable young lady who consistently exemplifies the values and virtues of our Catholic faith. Her unwavering commitment to kindness, humility, and service has not only inspired those around her but has also earned her this award multiple times, further demonstrating her dedication to the Catholic life and mission of our school.
Her dedication reminds us of the words from the Book of Colossians: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters" (Colossians 3:23). In her daily life, she embodies this spirit of dedication through her roles in the Chaplaincy and Eco-committee. In class, she demonstrates a commitment to service, always ready to lend a helping hand and do her best.
We are blessed to have her as part of our community. Just as Colossians 3:23 highlights the importance of wholehearted dedication and service, she exemplifies these virtues in every aspect of her life. Let us all strive to follow her example, letting our own words and actions reflect the dedication and service she so beautifully demonstrates.
Thank you, Hebe.
Year 6
St Thérèse stated, "Without love, deeds, even the most brilliant, count as nothing," and this young lady embodies this as she approaches everything with care, kindness and love. Her love enables her to embody our REACH values as it fuels her strength to bounce back from challenges, knowing that her care for others keeps her grounded. It deepens her understanding of others' feelings, allowing her to truly connect and support them - this was evident during residential. It motivates her to strive for a better future, not just for herself, but for the people she cares about, and it inspires her to have quiet confidence to aim high, not just for her own success, but to create an environment where everyone can thrive. Her work ethic and determination to be the best she can be makes her an excellent role model within the class. Her ideas in RE show a mature understanding of the scripture covered and she considers how this links to the modern world, and more specifically, her world. Her understanding, and small and quiet acts are noticed; it’s not about shouting from the rooftops, but about acting with kindness, whether people see it or not. Although she is a quieter member of our class, I have seen glimmers of her confidence shine through and her lovely sense of humour too. I would like to see more of this as we move through her final year – thank you Lyra for the love and joy that you bring to our room.

In every action, he lives out the principles of Catholic Social teaching; upholding the dignity of every person, advocating for justice and peace, and extending compassion to those in need. His kindness is not a mere sentiment but a way of life. Whether its offering a helping hand to a friend in need, standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves or simply sharing a smile with a stranger, he reminds us all of the power of love and empathy.
Furthermore, his love for all of God’s creation is inspiring to see, and we could not ask for a better Steward of the Earth. We all love his enthusiasm for protecting wildlife, gardening, being outside with nature and, of course, identifying tractors!
But what truly sets him apart is his unwavering hope, patience and courage. No matter what the challenge, this boy meets it with a smile and determination. He listens, has hope and resilience, and celebrates with deep joy when the challenge is overcome. We absolutely share the joy of success with him at every opportunity and are inspired by his confidence to overcome all the challenges of life.

Year 6
"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." This quote from Roald Dahl popped into my head when I started thinking about this young lady, and all the ‘little ways’ she contributes to our class - including her smile which brightens my mornings! In Corinthians 13:4 it states, “Love is patient and kind,” and this humble girl has impressed me with her mature approach to Year 6 and her quiet confidence that shines through. Her thoughtful and empathetic contributions during RE sessions, combined with her nurturing role with her reception buddy, showcase a genuine understanding of love and care for others. Whilst on residential she supported many other children and demonstrated understanding, patience and care – this significantly impressed all of the staff. Her loyalty and kindness make her a cherished friend and a valuable member of St David’s class. Her ability to produce meaningful prayers displays her deep understanding and compassion; she truly cares for our common home. Her work linked to Ladato Si was inspiring showing how she is following in the footsteps of Jesus. Just like the beautiful flowers that represent St Therese, I’m excited to see your ‘little ways’ continue and watch how you flourish and grow during our time in Year 6; what a joy it is to have you in our class Isla H.
