Week 2
This week has been a great week in Year 3! We have been learning about our local area in Geography, looking at the terms human and physical geography. We have looked at our village, county, country and continent. We loved looking at this through Google Earth.
In Maths we have been writing three digit numbers in words and numerals. This was fascinating, and we all have a confident understanding of place value now.
In English we have been learning about using inverted commas to show direct speech. We were very resilient, and will be coming back to it next week too.
To grow in our faith this week, we have been looking at creation and how God created the world. We looked at the Canticle of the Sun written by St Francis of Assisi, and we wrote our own! Here is an example we wrote together:
We thank you sister rain for helping the plants,
The plants that give us oxygen and fruit,
To heal and energise our bodies to help us grow big and strong.
