Summer term 1 20204/2025

Week 2

We have had a great second week in St. Patrick's Class. In PE, we did some more cricket. We started by hitting cricket balls to a fielder, then we played a short game. It was a lot of fun! We continued practicing our fielding too.

Our DT was very exciting too. All our resilience paid off and we have now finished our Roman posters. You can see a picture of them below - we hope to be taking them home soon.

In Maths we have finally finished our topic on time. Thank you for your support at home with this - it is a tricky one!

We continued to look at adventure stories and have enjoyed being creative with some of our writing. We have such high expectations in terms of our vocabulary right now.

We also learned about the NSPCC campaign Speak Out, Stay Safe. You can find a video of us all saying the childline number on the school social media pages. We looked at who our trusted adults were - and have also decided to have a class worry box.

This morning when we came into school we were very excited to talk about the new Pope! We are excited to see how Pope Leo XIV can support us growing in our faith. We have written a short prayer for him:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving this man the opportunity to be our Pope,
Please look after him and keep him safe from harm,
Help him lead us to be pilgrims of hope,
We are blessed to have him with us,
Give Pope Leo XIV the resilience to see us through difficult times,
And help him guide us throughout our time at St. Joseph's and beyond,
Help him to inspire us through Faith, Hope and Love.

Amen

Week 1

We have had a great start to the Summer term in St. Patrick's class.

In maths, we continued to be resilient when looking at time. Today, we looked at the difference between a.m and p.m.
We practiced our running in PE, and hope to properly start our unit of cricket next week. We are very excited about this.
In computing, we carried on with our work on templates. We had lots of exciting designs for our poster for Sports Day, and we hope to be showing you soon. We are feeling very confident about our posters!
In RE, we began our topic Ends of The Earth by examining the story of the Road to Emmaus. We watched a fantastic video about it, which we really enjoyed. You can find the video here. We loved growing in our faith by being introduces to more Bible stories.
